Among the new car application materials to be officially announced, a new product with 1.8-liter displacement and number CA7184 of FAW Group has emerged. This number is the first time to appear. Before that, the 1.8-displacement cars produced by FAW Group had only the Red Flag Celebrities numbered CA7180 and the Red Flag Century Star numbered CA7182. However, these two old models were discontinued several years ago, and CA7184 has nothing to do with them. The 2.0-liter and 2.3-liter Pentium B70 are numbered CA7204 and CA7234 respectively. The new Pentium B70 with a displacement of 1.8 provides two main power configurations: 6-speed manual and 5-speed manual. At present, only some old models, such as Brilliance Zunchi and Chery Oriental Son, which have been listed for many years, meet the requirements, with outdated appearance, aging models and poor reputation. Roewe 550, Ruiqi G5, Brilliance XinJunjie, Geely EC718 and other new generations, mainly for home use, brand, appearance, interior and internal space, can not fully meet the special requirements of official vehicles. In addition to the Roewe 550, the automatic transmission of other models is an irreparable shortcoming. Ruiqi G6, which has excellent performance, is about to launch a 1.8T five-speed automatic transmission model. Although it meets the displacement requirements, the cost is high, and the estimated price far exceeds 160,000 yuan. Therefore, in this special market segment, the new Pentium B70 has unique advantages, and the only potential rival, B16, the son of Chery’s new Oriental, will not appear for at least one year.
The 1.8-displacement Pentium B70 will not go on sale with the 2011 Pentium B70 until autumn at the earliest. If the planning is reasonable and the project is progressing smoothly, it may be able to catch the last bus of centralized procurement at the end of the year. Similar to the 2.0-displacement Pentium B70, although the powertrain of the new model has been localized, the core components are still basically produced by imported assembly. In the short term, both the production capacity increase and the vehicle cost are greatly restricted. The official guide price of 2010 Pentium B70 with 2.0 displacement is RMB 129,800 ~ RMB 155,800. 1.8 displacement Pentium B70 will adopt two-stage differentiation strategy. The manual gear is low-equipped, and the price is slightly lowered to about 125,800 yuan, while providing more and more preferential margins. The automatic transmission with high model has enhanced configuration, and the price is maintained at about RMB 155,800. Perhaps the top model will be further introduced, and the price will go up, approaching RMB 160,000.
